Earthscan: Publishing for a sustainable future

Earthscan is the leading publisher on climate change, sustainable development and environmental technology for academic, professional and general readers. We aim to publish original, reliable and significant work that helps to foster the conditions for genuine sustainability by providing the means for understanding and analysing the issues and the tools for resolving them.

Earthscan was originally founded by the International Institute for Environment and Development in 1987, and we continue to publish in association with them and in partnership with a range of environmental and development organizations world wide. We are an independent company and our books and journals are distributed throughout the world; we make particular efforts to find ways of ensuring they reach readers in developing countries as well as in more established markets. We actively promote our publications to all the sectors to which they are relevant.

We are continually looking for ways to reduce the environmental impact of our activities, and we offset in full the carbon emissions resulting from our business: the production of our publications, their distribution and our full office and travel impacts as well.

We are keen to receive proposals for new publications, at whatever stage of development they may be, and welcome your feedback and comments.

Please note that Earthscan is now part of the Taylor & Francis Group.
Business continues as usual; you can browse and purchase books on the Earthscan website,
as well as requesting complimentary exam copies, and making library recommendations.
