It is time to wake up to the truth about climate change. . .
Perhaps you think renewable energy or climate engineering will save us…or maybe the timescale for action is not as narrow as the scientists keep telling us… Perhaps you’re holding out hope that politicians will coordinate a global solution, despite the short-term bent of our institutions and psychological dispositions. Whatever your current thinking, is it based on the evidence?
In Requiem for a Species Clive Hamilton explores the reasons for our hubris, our innate optimism, and our penchant for avoiding the facts. He concludes that it is time to face up to our obligations to our fellow humans, and the wider natural world – to no longer protect those who continue to pollute the atmosphere in a way that threatens our survival.
Join us for one or all of these events to discuss Clive Hamilton’s new book:
