Earthscan has been shortlisted for 4 Independent Publisher’s Guild Awards:
Lightning Source Academic & Professional Publisher of the Year
Earthscan earned its place on the shortlist after a year in which it grew sales, invested in new markets and launched new schemes to improve its online sales and marketing. “Earthscan is a very well run company that is doing everything a publisher should be doing to be part of the digital age,” said the judges.
Nielsen Innovation of the Year
Earthscan was nominated for initiatives to increase its website and email marketing, including new ‘Earthcasts’ to broadcast authors to an online audience. “This is a great use of technology to help authors talk to their readers, and a clever way for Earthscan to endorse its core market.”
International Achievement of the Year
Earthscan made the shortlist after a year in which it expanded in the US with a company acquisition and targeted new territories via conferences and canny marketing campaigns. “Earthscan is clearly passionate about its work, and what it has achieved internationally is hugely impressive.”
Digital Award
Earthscan was nominated for its use of digital media to extend market reach and build brand affiliation in various ways. The judges said: “This is not just one initiative but several, reflecting a well-considered and implemented web strategy. The results are impressive.”
