Earthscan shortlisted for two 2009 Independent Publishing Awards

The Independent Publishers Guild has shortlisted Earthscan for two awards in the 2009 Independent Publishing Awards. They are:

Academic & Professional Publisher of the Year
Earthscan earned a place on the shortlist for its commitment to environmental and sustainable development publishing, and for embracing new technology to support its books. “Earthscan is a perfect example of how independent publishers can get into their customers’ networks and earn their respect.”

Environmental Award
Earthscan was nominated for its efforts to reduce environmental impacts in its office and among suppliers, as well as for its respected publishing on environmental and sustainable development issues. “Earthscan has looked at the whole life cycle of its books and taken big steps towards a greener business.”
