As Renewable Energy World reports, the Canadian province of Ontario is joining the US in ramping up support for renewable energy and energy efficiency. Intended to create 50,000 jobs in three years and save consumers over CAN$700m a year, the scheme involves a feed-in tariff to increase investor confidence in profitability of renewables projects, regular reviews of building energy efficiency, and integration of LEED building design standards for new buildings, amongst other measures.
Any ideas for what it might take for the UK to get out of the dark ages?
