Tim Jackson, author of Prosperity Without Growth, has certainly got people talking after his participation at the TED Global conference in Oxford last Thursday. |
 |
A soundbite from his talk was tweeted by an audience member and it became the most retweeted of the conference. It was then picked up by CNN online, who focused their entire conference report on Tim and another speaker, Laurie Santos, a professor at Yale University whose research indicates that humans make the same mistakes on risk that monkeys do. |
"Amazed to see that a tweet I sent out during Tim Jackson‘s talk at TEDGlobal made one of the top #TED tweets of the day..." |
Blogs Mick Yates as he assesses Tim's talk on his Leadership Blog. Other media coverage focusing on Tim Jackson's talk included... "Another great session at TEDGlobal this year. Tim Jackson wondered if our choice was to “Crash the system or trash the planet?”... Sylvain Zimmer "A terrific talk. We can be prosperous without growth, the endless pursuit of novelty"... Julian Treasure “Personal debt has grown massively because people buy things they don’t want, to create impressions that don’t last on people they don’t care about.”... MEDIACLARITY quotes Tim Jackson Stay tuned for further coverage of the conference, as well as a video of Tim's talk. In the meantime, you can check out the video of his excellent Deakin 2010 lecture.
